Jtrey is a multi-talented R&B/Hip-Hop sensation consisting of three members (Jay B, J T, & Jasmine). The group describes their influences to be artists such as DJ Quik and The Neptunes all the way to Lauryn Hill, Jagged Edge, and even Bonnie Raitt. “Jaze Reign” is an incredible album, as well as the group’s sophomore release. Fans need to take notice as there are no disappointments during this groovy, smooth ride.

The album starts off with “Can’t Drop The Mic”. The track has a “live” vibe to it. It consists of smooth, chillaxin lyrics, and a beat that’s equally on par. It’s a great track to get the crowd into the music. The album continues with an array of ear popping gems that continuously dazzle fans. “My Gift is my Song” is the second track on the album. It delivers some down to earth, incredibly appealing lyrics, and a beat that is sure to uplift the mind with pure refreshment. Music does not get more real, or more refreshing. “Let Me Hear Ya” is a club type dazzler that’s sure to get fans up high with nothing but bounce. This song is a definite club favorite. Jasmine’s contribution in this song is outstanding. The gems continue to get mined as fans journey through the music. The beats and lyrics are hot in every single song; there isn’t one song that is poor quality in any aspect.

The most notable tracks on the album include “Let Me Hear Ya”, “The Reason”, “Won’t Take Long”, and “Embellish” featuring P. Ford. As mentioned, all the songs are outstanding, but these tracks inch out a tad beyond the rest of the pack. The least appreciated track is “The Reason” clean version because it breaks up the listening experience by adding some redundancy. It is a great song, but having it appear in the roster twice on a twelve song album doesn’t add anything; it takes away from the listing, and flow of the album. Aside from that note, the flow of the album, the organization and layout of the music is amazing. Each song perfectly flows into the next in perfect harmony.

The content of the music is real. Jtrey drops knowledge on minds instead of rhyming about egotistical things. They let loose with music and use it as a gift to uplift. Fans can easily relate to & learn from the music of Jtrey. The other strong point to their music is the fact that it appeals to a wider audience. Both Hip Hop, and R&B fans will love Jtrey. Jtrey is extremely refreshing like a breath of fresh air. “Sucka 4 Love” is one of those conceptual songs that need to be heard. It’s incredibly written, and it deeply touches its listeners.

The album artwork is good in the sense fans get some good insight into the group through some photo’s, and a web address where they can follow up if they desire more information. The production squad needs some recognition for their fabulous contributions. Kaysha, Funkdaddy, JR, and PM Jankinz all deserve respect for their ear dazzling gems.

Overall, fans need to purchase this album. If fans are looking for that keystone piece to their collection that’s inspiring, real, and full of chillaxin vibes then there should be no hesitation in checking out this album. Jtrey is full of talent, and they will continue to dazzle fans long into the future of hip hop & R&B. For more information fans should check their website. “Jaze Reign” is the name of the album you need!
