The Obnoxious Vanity Project is “a concoction of revolutionary Hip Hop with a dose of Rock and Roll angst and a splash of Techno”. A full length, 13 track album featuring some of the finest rhymes, and words any microphone has ever been dealt. Hailing from New York Dung Meister General (D.M.G.) is an exceptionally talented artist as he easily proves on his debut release on Charma Recordz. A founding member of previous groups such as “Nasty Boyz”, “Cesspull”, and “Alice Kramden” D.M.G has finely developed his skills, and talents to a point where they are uneasily matched. The Obnoxious Vanity Project starts out with “Introfesto”, a brief, creative, funky introduction featuring spoken poetry that commands fans attention. The first full length track is “Worshipful Master” which is a dazzling track featuring D.M.G. ripping the microphone with unparalleled level of intensity. The song is incredibly intense, has a banging beat, amazing production, and it easily appeases fans. The album continues with many more notable tracks that are sure to be fan favorites, and successfully singles. To name a few, the notable tracks are “Unresolved Childhood Issues”, “Superdick”, and “Handsome Like A Monkey”.

Strong points to this album include, but are not limited to D.M.G.’s natural talent, exceptional wordplay, delivery, and passion. The beats, and production quality is very high, and packed with grooves, bounce, funk, and electricity. The beats keep ears as interested as the vocal attributes of the music. The Obnoxious Vanity Project has music for everyone featured on it, whether fans want to get live, or chill. The cover artwork and presentation is good, and well put together. The cover is informative with regards to the music as it has the minutes of each song listed along with the song on the cover.

Weak points include the albums “interludes?” that are placed through-out the album between groups of songs. They are 13 seconds long, and don’t really seam to do anything positive for the album. They were placed there either by mistake, or to give the album a story like feel. They are not listed on the album cover. The album cover also could deliver more information about D.M.G. or the project to fans. Many fans love to read the information in the album jackets as much as they love to listen to the music. There is a website address listed for fans who can get to a computer to gather more information, but its always nice to have some in the jacket / on the cover.

D.M.G. is very talented, and is sure to make some noise with The Obnoxious Vanity Project. It is a great album that fans need to check out.
