FLO MOB - Hip Hop Artist

FLO MOB BIOGRAPHY Introducing straight from the depths of the ATX undaground the true original Austin Texas flavor known on the streets as FLO MOB FLo Mob has blessed the underground with tight beats flows and shows since the early nineties Capturing thousands of fans and continuing to elevate the quality of rap music in the state capital Flo Mob originally called FLO MOTION started in the early nineties doing local shows and recording in shopping mall studios After winning a weekly talent contest four consecutive times and being approached by local record labels and managers the group started to believe their chances of succeeding in this rap game could be very high Their first underground tape #8220;You Know the Name of the Game#8221; was released in early ninety-three With little knowledge of the business side of the music game the group sold the tapes out of the trunk and at shows around the area This sparked interest in the group and they went on to be named #8220;Austin#8217;s favorite underground act#8221; in the local newspaper in 1994 After a name change and two other local releases the group now known as FLO MOB started to receive calls to open up for major rap acts that came to the area Flo Mob continued to make good music and consistently performed any chance they could get From parties to local celebrations to clubs the M-O-B was making a strong name for itself and the best was yet to come In 1999 after gaining some knowledge about the business side of the music industry FLO MOB started a record label Although things were slow at first the group decided it was time to dedicate all of it#8217;s time to blowing up the rap game in the ATX The first release off of the new label was called #8220;What you know about that wood?!#8221; This would be the album that put FLO MOB on the map as a force to be reckoned with The first single #8220;Tha Wood#8221; went on to be the anthem for the ATX Everywhere you went someone was bumping or singing this song It went on to become the #1 song on the local radio stations top 40 countdown It also caught the attention of nationwide hip hop magazine #8220;BLAZE#8221; In April of 2000 FLO MOB was featured in the #8220;Shine#8221; section of the magazine This was the section for up and coming artists who were one their way to making some major things happen in rap music Some of the other artists featured included The Eastsiderz Lil Zane and Kardinal Offishall Since that time FLO MOB has completed two other projects One is a compilation of all the artists on FLO MOB Records titled #8220;In bomb we trust Which released on April 16th 2001 and has sold over 1300 copies And the other is the unreleased full length follow up to #8220;Tha Wood#8221; titled #8220;Flo thousand -twoSUPABAD!#8221; Which is scheduled to be released early 2002 The one common trait that each album is guaranteed to possess is the unique South- west rap style the group has perfected Flo Mob#8217;s history begins in California but the tie that binds is the ATX And the most interesting and promising quality of the FLO MOB has little to do with the unique style the tight lyrics or the elaborate stage show it#8217;s much deeper than that The bond the M-O-B (my - other - brother) shares dates back to childhood and you can still find them hanging out making music together working on the common goal of blowing up the ATX The loyalty and strong sense of unity has taken this group of friends very far on the road to success and the journey has only begun
