"Foreword:

First let us say that this will probably be one of the hardest letters we
will ever have to write. Most of you already know that our firm represents The Gravediggaz. A year ago we launched a campaign on Poetic's behalf when we found out that he was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer. At that time, over a year ago, he was given 3 months to live, yet he has showed strength and a will to live beyond belief. Please note: This is NOT an email to request money or donations, but to inform those that care, that Anthony Berkeley, aka Poetic has been hospitalized and is severely ill. His kidneys have failed, and dialysis has also failed. Doctors do not expect him to last another week. (Actually they have said hours, but it seems Poetic isn't having that.)

The Gravediggaz album is dropping in August. This email was supposed to be the press release (see below) ....with the twist being that it was being sent on Friday the 13th. But that publicity slant did not sit well with us, particularly after Dee Dee (his wife) put me (Chase) on the phone with Poetic and he didn't even have the strength to talk. We are still moving forward aggressively with the promotion of the album, because we know that is what Poetic would want, he has expressed that very sentiment to us on numerous occasions ...."No matter what....keep going, I didn't work this hard to stop now." He would not want us to lose heart after his strength has brought us this far. If you are a spiritual person, please take a moment to send a prayer out to Poetic and his wife Dee Dee who has been by his side through everything, she has been his light, and not once has she let it falter.

If you want to send flowers or gifts to the hospital, please call Chase for
the address. We would include it in this email, but we're not real clear on
just how much time he has left. If you should want to send a donation, small or large to help Poetic and Dee Dee with the (enormous) medical bills, please make a check or money order to Meridian Entertainment, 1 Orchard St., Jersey City, NJ 07306, and put Poetic or Anthony Berkeley on the "For" line on the bottom left hand corner of the check or at the top of the money order. Again, I stress this email is NOT about raising money, Poetic is far beyond that now. But if you have the means to help out with their medical bills, it would be appreciated.
